Contents
1. General information
Pddle Journeys is an exploration and relaxation experience in the Danube Delta, involving activities such as Stand Up Paddle, kayak, canoe, slow catamaran, camping and nature observation. Participation implies full acceptance of the terms and conditions described below.
2. Eligibility and safety conditions for participation
2.1. Swimming skills
For the safety of all participants, the ability to swim is a condition for participation. A participant is considered water-fit if they:
- can swim at least 25 meters in open water, without a life vest and without assistance
- can float in a relaxed position for at least 2 minutes
- can keep their orientation in the water and swim back to the board in case of a fall
Each participant will complete a self-declaration confirming these skills.
2.2. Minimum age
Participation is allowed from the age of 12 (completed).
- Minors between 12 and 18 may participate only accompanied by a responsible adult
- A signed parental consent is mandatory — parents or guardians express consent, confirm minimum swimming ability, take responsibility for supervising the minor, and confirm they were informed of the activity's risks
- Children under 12 may participate only in dedicated, age-appropriate activities communicated in advance
2.3. Medical consent and health condition
Any person with known medical conditions, cardiovascular disease, epilepsy or other neurological disorders, insulin-dependent diabetes, severe respiratory conditions, orthopedic issues affecting balance, or severe allergies must inform the organizers before the activity starts.
Each participant will complete a self-declaration on their state of health, confirming fitness for moderate physical activity and that they have informed the organizers of any relevant condition.
2.4. Access on the catamaran, medical and mobility considerations
Moving on the catamaran involves boarding and disembarking via a gangway or natural banks, keeping balance on a moving platform, and possible transfers between the catamaran and paddle boards.
People with neurological conditions, mobility issues or unstable balance must declare this in advance for participation safety assessment. Depending on the assessment, the team may recommend limiting activities to the catamaran area or refuse participation in certain weather conditions.
3. Behavior and safety on board the catamaran
3.1. Access on the catamaran
Boarding and disembarking are done only at the signal of the crew or guide, along established routes. Access to the engine area, the side deck during navigation, or any area marked "no access" is strictly forbidden.
3.2. Responsible behavior on board
During navigation a stable position must be kept; standing, jumping or swinging on deck is forbidden; alcohol is not consumed; access to technical or control areas is forbidden. Children must be supervised at all times by the accompanying adult.
3.3. Relationship between the catamaran and SUP activity
The catamaran remains the safety and orientation point for participants on Stand Up Paddle boards. Participants must keep visual contact with the catamaran, ask for help in case of difficulty, and board only when the pause or retreat moment is set.
3.4. Hygiene, sustainability and shared living
Throwing waste overboard and using non-biodegradable personal hygiene products is forbidden. A contemplative, calm attitude and respect for the shared space are encouraged.
4. Participant responsibility
4.1. Stand Up Paddle equipment
Each participant receives a complete set: SUP board, paddle, life vest, leash and accessories. Equipment must be used only for its intended purpose; dragging the board over abrasive surfaces or leaving equipment unattended in strong sun is forbidden. Any defect must be reported immediately to the instructor. Participants are financially responsible for damage caused by negligence.
4.2. Equipment and facilities on the catamaran
Participants have access to the relaxation deck, storage compartments, water points, cooking equipment and the first aid kit, usable only under the guide's coordination. Access to technical compartments is forbidden; the items provided must be kept intact.
4.3. Other equipment
Depending on the chosen package, camping gear, outdoor cooking tools, binoculars or maps may be provided, to be used with the same care as personal belongings.
4.4. Compensation policy
In case of damage or loss of equipment due to the participant's fault, the damage is assessed by the Pddle Journeys team, which proposes a fair compensation amount. Refusal to pay may lead to exclusion from future participation.
5. Organizer responsibility
5.1. Pddle Journeys commitments
The organizer commits to providing verified equipment in excellent condition, mandatory initial instruction on paddle technique, water safety and emergency procedures, permanent presence of a guide, and monitoring of weather conditions to adapt the route.
5.2. Limits of responsibility
The organizer cannot be held responsible for accidents resulting from ignoring instructions, imprudent behavior, alcohol or substance consumption, lack of honesty about health, or misuse of equipment. Nor is it responsible for force majeure events, sudden weather changes, uncontrollable natural factors or external events affecting logistics.
5.3. Emergency interventions
The organizer has the obligation to intervene promptly in cases of imbalance, exhaustion or panic reactions, to have access to a first aid kit and emergency communication means, to call 112 in serious cases and to document the incident.
6. Bookings, cancellations and reschedules
6.1. Booking confirmation
Bookings are considered valid only after payment of a 30% deposit of the total package value. The remainder is paid at the latest 7 days before the experience begins, unless otherwise specified in the offer.
6.2. Cancellation policy by the participant
- More than 30 calendar days in advance: 100% of the deposit is refunded
- Between 15 and 30 days in advance: 50% of the deposit is refunded
- Less than 15 days in advance: the deposit is not refunded
6.3. Reschedules by the participant
Rescheduling is possible only once, at least 15 days in advance, subject to availability. Reschedules requested less than 15 days out are considered cancellations.
6.4. Cancellation or reschedule by the organizer
Pddle Journeys reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the experience in case of extreme weather, force majeure or insufficient participants, communicated at least 7 days in advance. The participant may choose between rescheduling without cost or a full refund.
6.5. No-show
Failure to show up at the set date and time is considered a cancellation without refund, regardless of the reason.
6.6. Special cases
For proven exceptional situations, such as medical emergencies with supporting documentation, Pddle Journeys may offer rescheduling or partial refund, at its discretion.
7. Giveaways
A giveaway means offering one or more free or partially free spots at a Pddle Journeys experience, according to the description of the dedicated campaign, organized exclusively in scheduled tours with available spots.
The won spot is valid for an existing tour; the winner accepts the structure and rules already set by the guide. Participation is only allowed to those meeting the eligibility conditions in the Terms & Conditions.
The winner must confirm the prize within 24 hours of the announcement; otherwise, the prize is considered lost and may be redistributed. The giveaway post clearly specifies what the prize includes and excludes. The prize is generally non-reschedulable or reschedulable only once, and no-show leads to its loss without compensation.
The organizer reserves the right to refuse the winner's participation for objective safety reasons.
8. Image rights
8.1. Consent to use of image
By participating in Pddle Journeys activities, each participant implicitly consents that their image may be used to promote activities on the website and social media, to produce media materials, or to share within internal participant groups. These materials will not be sold or transferred to third parties without additional consent.
8.2. Refusal to use image
Participants who do not wish to appear in public photos or videos must notify the organizer in writing, at least 24 hours before the experience starts, specifying whether the refusal applies to public materials, internal ones, or both.
8.3. Rights over materials
Photos and videos made by the Pddle Journeys team are the intellectual property of the organizer. Participants may receive copies for personal use but may not republish or use the materials in commercial contexts without written agreement.
9. Acceptance of terms
By registering and participating in Pddle Journeys experiences, each participant declares that they have read, understood and fully accepted these Terms & Conditions, is aware that the rules are designed for personal safety, the safety of other participants and the protection of the natural environment, and undertakes to follow the guide's instructions for the entire duration of the experience.
The participant declares on their own responsibility that they are physically and mentally fit for water activities in nature, that they know how to swim according to the criteria in section 2.1, that they do not suffer from conditions incompatible with the activity, and that they will inform the organizer if medical or emotional issues arise. Participation in a nature activity involves an unavoidable degree of risk, and the organizer cannot be held responsible for incidents resulting from imprudent behavior, ignoring instructions, or uncontrollable natural factors.
By booking and participating in Pddle Journeys, participants declare that they have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions.
